Formed in January 2013, Suchmos is a Kanagawa-born band inspired by ROCK, JAZZ, HIP HOP, and other styles rooted in Black music.Frontman YONCE, born in Shonan–Chigasaki, proudly represents his hometown.

Their name is derived from Louis Armstrong’s nickname “Satchmo,” reflecting their aim to become pioneers themselves.

The lineup consists of YONCE(Vo), TAIKING(Gt), HSU(Ba), TAIHEI(Key), Kaiki Ohara(Dj), OK(Dr).
In February 2021, the band announced a temporary hiatus.
They came back in June 2025 with a two-night performance at Yokohama Arena.
