Formed in Hokkaido in 2005, the band made its major-label debut in 2007 with its current lineup.

Rooted in literary, evocative lyrics and folk-inflected melodies imbued with a strong sense of nostalgia, the band has established a distinctive style, freely traversing between traditional band-oriented rock and club music–influenced approaches. Their music, characterized by its broad appeal and versatility, has consistently received high critical acclaim with each release.

The band composed the score for the film Bakuman., earning the Best Music Award at the 39th Japan Academy Film Prize—the first rock band to receive this honor. Their latest single, “Kaiju,” released in 2025 as the theme song for the anime Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, topped major music streaming charts.

Their live performances extend beyond conventional concerts, earning widespread acclaim as immersive entertainment experiences that stimulate both sight and sound. Now in their 19th year since formation, the band continues to assert a strong presence as one of the defining rock acts in today’s music scene, driven by innovative musicality and exceptional musicianship.
